turn your volume up :P
Use VLC player.
At the bottom of the main VLC window, there's a 3 band graphic equalizer button, click that.
The slider on the left gives you the Pre-Amp setting, slide that up to boost the volume.
You can also click the next tab and enable the Dynamic Range.
Just have a play and setup to your needs
i stream the movies to my tv which prob doesnt help
Soz, can't help with streaming. I use a Cyclone Micro 3 HD box thingy for watching on my TV or via projector.
Maybe worth playing around with your TV's audio settings instead
I use to also but I have not thought about that since I bought a sound bar (a few months ago) for my TV. I don't know what the sound bar did but I never have to adjust the volume anymore.
if i put the volume up loud, the sfx go louder then the vocals so it doesnt really work out espically for action movies.

Thanks yifi for all your ups, but this one I had to turn off on my hdtv because the quality matches that of a dvd xvid. Would be great on a computer screen, but not on a big screen tv. Here's hoping for a blu-ray release.
